Sources of Income

Sister Parish, Inc. depends on the generosity and stewardship of people like you to carry out our mission and vision.

The Sister Parish operating budget for 2007 is $152,300. To cover this, income comes from a variety of sources.

  • U.S. member churches pay an annual $500 linkage fee to the organization to help pay for administrative expenses and communications.
  • Guatemalan churches pay an annual fee of $13, which is used for covering part of their travel expenses for locally organized meetings.
  • When delegations travel south, an overhead of $525 per delegate is charged
  • When a delegation travels north, a flat rate of $1000 is charged, plus $500 as a staff accompaniment fee.
  • Donations from individuals, families, foundations and special events.
  • The Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers in the U.S., El Salvador, and Guatemala give hundreds of hours of their time, in addition to financial contributions
  • The Sister Parish Center in Guatemala City generates more than half of its operating costs by charging guests for hospitality.
